Gothenburg’s thrash trio OMINUM formed in 2018 with a clear vision: to emphasize the heaviness of the genre while incorporating their own unique twist of non-linear songwriting. After releasing a demo and four singles, the band caught the attention of the cult underground label Witches Brew. This led to the release of their debut full-length album Monument in 2022, which was met with widespread praise from both zines and fans.
Not a band to sit back and relax, OMINUM quickly got back to work, releasing the digital-only single ‘Epitaph’ soon after. By mid-2023, they had written three additional songs, expanding on their technical and complex style without losing the aggressive and unpredictable edge that defines their sound. These tracks formed the basis of the War For Peace EP, which the band self-released digitally in December of the same year.
Now, in October 2024, War For Peace gets the full CD treatment through Witches Brew, including two bonus tracks: ‘An Empty, Endless Race’ and a remix of ‘Epitaph’. Clocking in at nearly 30 minutes, the EP showcases OMINUM’s ability to blend crushing riffs, virtuoso drumming, powerful bass, and spectacular guitar solos.
