About "Procession"
Rooted in the song "Saatto" from Mustan Kuun Lapset’s 2017 album, "Procession" reimagines the track as a dark electronic composition, moving away from its metal origins. This experimental shift is a collaboration between Lehtinen and Finnish vocalist Micko Hell, known for his work with Denigrate and Million Dollar Beggars. Together, they craft a sound that bridges their metal backgrounds with the rhythm and textures of electronic music.
Lyrically, "Procession" delves into themes of solitude and loss, wrapped in an immersive soundscape. The blend of haunting vocals, layered synths, and rhythmic beats creates a powerful and emotive journey for listeners.
"Procession represents a step into uncharted musical territory for me. It’s a way to revisit and reinterpret an old piece, giving it new life in a completely different style. Collaborating with Micko Hell and our production team allowed us to create something that feels both fresh and reflective."
The single was recorded by Sami Heinonen, with mixing and mastering handled by Pasi Löfgren at Inka Studio, Finland. Löfgren also co-produced the track alongside Lehtinen.
