Machtklang, the solo black metal project led by Christina "Herrin", has revealed its first single, Panzerbataillon Prometheus. Formerly known as Finsterort, the project took on its new identity in February 2024, signalling a bold new direction for Herrin's deeply personal and defiant music.

For Christina, a trans woman, Machtklang is more than just music—it’s a way to channel years of pain and anger, including childhood trauma from s*xual abuse by a Catholic nun. Machtklang’s message is unapologetically anti-religious, aimed at fostering critical thinking and empowering those who have been silenced or hurt by religious institutions.

Machtklang blends intense black metal energy with doom-like slower sections, creating a sound that is both raw and atmospheric. Solos inspired by Megadeth add an extra layer of depth, while the blast beats and dark riffs drive home the band’s unrelenting energy.

Lyrically, Herrin explores themes of freedom, individuality, and resistance against toxic ideologies. While not overtly political, the music adopts a satanic philosophy, not as a religious stance but as a symbol of rebellion and personal autonomy.

Machtklang’s self-titled debut album is slated for release on 24th December 2024, delivering a collection of dark, emotional tracks rooted in Herrin’s personal experiences and worldview.
